Jakarta - In addition to removing thirst in humans, a bottle of soft drink (soft drinks) was also able to 'let go of thirst' on the phone. How?
The breakthrough is revealed by Daizi Zheng, from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, who developed the concept of soft-drink-powered mobile phones for Nokia.
Zheng saw that the conventional cell phone batteries are not expensive and environmentally friendly. Therefore, he developed a bio-battery to replace conventional batteries as an energy source of the phone.
"The concept is to use technology as a source of bio-energy batteries for mobile phones," said Zheng as quoted from P2pnet, Monday (1/11/2010).
Zheng continued, "Bio Battery is a source of environmentally friendly energy, formed from carbohydrates (from sugar) and using the enzyme as a catalyst."
As an energy source for mobile phones, bio battery only need one package and produce a sugary drink of water and oxygen when the battery is dead.
'Lives' bio battery to last for three to four hours longer than regular lithium batteries, and of course more 'green'. (Faw / fyk)
